Michromeformats

Microformats for your browser

Michromeformats helps you discover the little gems of data known as microformats.

Currently supporting hCard, hCalendar, hReview, hRecipes and geo, we want to make this data more visible and make it relevant to you and your browsing experience.

People & Organizations

It's sometimes easier to find an organization's phone number by looking at their hCard information than it is trying to find it on their website. Michromeformats will cleanly and simply show you the information a person or organization has chosen to share. That could be any number of things, ranging from email addresses to Twitter screen names. From there, you can download this information to your computer or import it to your Google Contacts.

Calendars & Events

Wondering when the next "cool" conference is going to be? Or when and where the next Vampire Weekend concert will be at? If Michromeformats finds event information on the page, you can download it or add the event to your Google Calendar. Pretty handy, eh?

Ratings & Reviews

Michromeformats will handle ratings and reviews as well. While not as widespread as event or contact information, reviews are beginning to gain traction on the web, and so we show them to you when we can!

Latitude & Longitude

Location-aware services are all-the-rage right now. But, what does 42.790163, -86.104017 mean? I don't know, but we make it easier to figure out by providing relevant contextual information, as well as displaying a map of the location. This ought to help you get your bearings.

Cooking & Baking

While most recipe websites provide you with a fairly-straightforward list of ingredients and directions, there's always the occasional one that doesn't. Recipes are meant to be shared and modified. We're looking at ways to make them fun and interesting, too.
